ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE Terms and Conditions

INTRODUCTION
Informa Middle East Limited (Dubai Branch) (Informa), the organiser of Medlab Asia and Asia Health – The Virtual Edition, is conducting the Medlab Asia and Asia Health – The Virtual Edition, Engagement Challenge (the Competition) for interested medical laboratory professionals to compete to win: (i) one (1) all access conference pass for Medlab Middle East 2021; (ii) a one-on-one session with an industry expert selected by the organisers for 30 mins; and (iii) an Amazon voucher worth 100$. Informa wishes to inspire medical laboratory professionals to participate and engage with attendees and exhibitors through this Competition, and Informa will award the highest engaged user with the opportunities indicated above, via which they may gain the chance to learn, network and exchange ideas and experiences.

The terms and conditions indicated below govern the Competition (Terms and Conditions).  Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and thoroughly.  If you have any questions about any aspect of the Competition or these Terms and Conditions, please contact [email protected].

  1. THE PROMOTER
    The promoter is: Informa Middle East Limited (Dubai Branch) with its address at Level 20, Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
  2. THE COMPETITION
    1. The title of the competition is Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Engagement Challenge.
    2. Competition summary: participants shall set up meetings with attendees and exhibitors, post on social media and actively engage with the platform (Activities). For Activities to be recognised, the participant needs to be a registered visitor for Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020.  Following the completed Activities, the engagement score shall be reviewed by Informa. Entrants will be informed about the competition by Informa via an email.  From the acknowledged entrants, the top ten (10) finalists (Finalists), shall be present on the leader board on the Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition website.  From the Finalists, one (1) winner (Winner) and two (2) runnerups will be chosen.  The Winner shall receive an all access conference pass to Medlab Middle East 2021, an Amazon voucher worth 100$ and the opportunity have a thirty (30) minute one-on-one session with an industry expert. The first runner-up will receive an all access conference pass to Medlab Middle East 2021 and an Amazon voucher worth 100$ (the “First Runner-up”) and the second runner-up will receive an all access conference pass to Medlab Middle East 2021 only (the “Second Runner-up”) (collectively, the “Runner-ups”).
    3. The winner will be decided at the discretion of the organisers.
  3. HOW TO ENTER
    1. To enter the Competition, participants must access the following website: https://www.medlabasia.com/asiahealth/en/connect/engagement-challenge-2020.html (the Website) and follow the instructions set out on the Website to complete the online registration and complete the mentioned engagement Activities.
    2. All Activities must take place during the show dates; between 20-22 October 2020 (Show Dates).  All Competition Activities completed after 22 October 2020 are automatically disqualified.
    3. All Activities must be completed in the English language.
    4. All Activities must use the hashtags #MedlabAsia #AsiaHealth and #EngagementChallenge, Activities without these hashtags will be disqualified.
    5. Informa shall review submitted Activities by no later than 22 October 2020 and inform the top ten (10) Finalists in the lead.
    6. Informa will not accept:
      1. responsibility for Competition Activities that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind;
      2. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Competition; or
      3. responsibility for any combination of events mentioned in clause 3.6.1 or other events, including injury or damage to any participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading or uploading any materials relating to, the Competition.
    7. The challenge shall follow the specification set out in clause 4 and any other specifications set out on the Website (the Engagement Challenge Specification).  If there is any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and the Engagement Challenge Specification, the Engagement Challenge Specification shall prevail only in so far as they conflict.
    8. Participants acknowledge and agree that Informa may, at its sole discretion, display any submitted Engagement Challenge Activities online at or in connection with Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition or any other Medlab conferences/exhibitions organised by Informa or any other companies that are part of the Informa Group (whose ultimate shareholder is Informa PLC).
    9. Entrants of the Competition must be registered visitors who are attending Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition.
  4. ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE SPECIFICATION
    1. All engagement Activity entries must include the following:
      1. the hashtags #MedlabAsia #AsiaHealth and #EngagementChallenge;
      2. the set-up of at least 5 meetings; and
      3. attendance of at least 1 conference session.
    2. Informa shall review the engagement Activities and shall select the top ten (10) Finalists.  The engagement Activities shall be scored under the following criteria and consideration:
      1. set-up meetings and connect with other participants and exhibitors (5points);
      2. attend CME and CMTE accredited sessions of your choice (4 points);
      3. share quotes/statistics from the sessions and tagging the event pages and the association you are a part of (2 points);
      4. give us a ‘thumbs up!’ if you enjoyed a particular session, take a picture with a thumbs up and simply upload and share with us. (2 points);
      5. play our expo bingo and share the results on your social profile (2 points);
      6. simply take a selfie with our filter on Instagram and add it to your story, tag us and your association (2 points); and
      7. simply go and ‘like’ Medlab Asia and Asia Health posts on our social channels (1 point).
  5. ELIGIBILITY
    1. The Competition is open to medical laboratory professionals and staff of a medical laboratory (or equivalent) that have registered as a visitor to Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition, and have been emailed by the organisers, except:
      1. employees of Informa or any other companies that are part of the Informa Group;
      2. employees of agents or suppliers of Informa or any other companies that are part of the Informa Group, who are professionally connected with the Competition or its administration;
      3. members of the immediate families or households of 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 above; or
      4. sanctioned or embargoed individuals or residents of a sanctioned or embargoed country according to applicable international trade sanctions, as updated from time to time.
    2. In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim such prizes as are described in these Terms and Conditions.  Informa may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.
    3. Informa will not accept Competition entries that are:
      1. automatically generated by computer;
      2. illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged, or tampered with; or
      3. incomplete.
    4. Informa reserves all rights to disqualify you at any point during the Competition if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition.
  6. THE PRIZES
    1. Entrants shall be contacted via email to participate in the Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual edition Engagement Challenge.
    2. The top ten (10) Finalists can be viewed on the leader board online at Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition website.
    3. One (1) Winner selected from the Finalists, shall receive the following:
      1. one (1) all access pass to the Medlab Middle East 2021 conferences;
      2. one (1) Amazon voucher worth 100$; and
      3. one (1) one-on-one session with an industry expert selected by the organisers.
    4. One (1) First Runner-up selected from the Finalists, shall receive the following:
      1.  one (1) all access pass to the Medlab Middle East 2021 conferences; and
      2. one (1) Amazon voucher worth 100$.
    5. One (1) Second Runner-up selected from the Finalists, shall receive the following:
      1. one (1) all access pass to the Medlab Middle East 2021 conferences.
    6. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prizes are the responsibility of the Winner and the Runner-ups.
    7. Participants acknowledge and agree that Informa shall not be held liable in any way for the Winner or Runner-ups’ inability to gain lawful and/or timely entrance to the country where Medlab Middle East 2021 shall take place.
    8. There is no cash alternative for any of the prizes.
    9. The prizes are not negotiable or transferable.
  7. WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
    1. The Winner and the Runner-ups will be announced virtually at Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition on 22 October 2020 (Announcement Date).  More information in regard to where and when the Winner and Runner-ups will be announced shall be given to the Finalists once they are selected.
    2. To be selected and announced as a Winner or Runner-up, you must be virtually present at Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition on 22 October 2020, when the Winner and Runner-ups will be announced.
    3. Informa’s decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into in regard to accepting other engagement activities, selecting Finalists and/or the Winner and/or the Runner-ups.
    4. Informa will contact the Finalists, Winner and Runner-ups via email as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the email address provided with the registration entry with any further details.
    5. Informa shall not be liable for the inability of the Winner to obtain any prize if they fail to provide any necessary further details (such as information required to arrange travel arrangements) in time.  
  8. CLAIMING THE PRIZES
    1. Only:
      1.  three (3) prizes will be allocated to the Winner;
      2. two (2) prizes will be allocated to the First Runner-up; and
      3. one (1) prize will be allocated to the Second Runner-up.
    2. Prizes cannot be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
    3. If a Winner or Runner-up cannot be contacted or is not available or declines the prize, Informa reserves the right to offer the prize to another of the Finalists/Runner-ups.
    4. Informa does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up a prize.
  9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    1. Insofar as is permitted by law, Informa, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Finalists, Winner, Runner-ups or any participant, or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up a prize or participating in the Competition, except where personal injury or death is caused by the negligence of Informa, its agents or distributors or that of their employees.  Your statutory rights are not affected.
    2. Although Informa shall take reasonable care while managing engagement challenge Activity entries and score of related material, it shall not be liable for any errors, omissions or misquotations that may occur.  All Activities are subject to the approval of Informa. 
    3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms and Conditions, Informa reserves the right to cancel or postpone this Competition at any time at is sole discretion.  In the event that the Competition is cancelled or postponed, Informa shall use commercially reasonable endeavours to notify participants of such cancellation.  Whilst Informa shall try to notify all participants, it shall not be liable to any participant for any loss or damage caused by such cancellation.  
  10. OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
    1. Informa does not claim any rights of ownership in your Competition entry.
    2. By submitting your Competition entry and any accompanying material (including all information in any Activity), you agree that Informa may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website, at any Medlab conference organised by Informa or the Informa Group (including but not limited to Medlab Asia 2020 – The Virtual Edition) and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Competition.  You agree to grant Informa a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the Competition entry and any accompanying materials (including all information in any Abstract), to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the Competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
  11. DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
    1. By submitting an entry into the Competition, you agree that Informa may use your name/s, job title, laboratory/institution name, town and country of residence and contact details in connection with displaying your engagement activities in line with clause 3.8.
    2. If you are a Finalist, Runner-up or the Winner of the Competition, you agree that Informa may use your name, image, job title, laboratory/institution name and town and country of residence to announce the Finalists and Winner of this Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.
    3. By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used only by Informa or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition.  
  12. GENERAL
    1. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
    2. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, Informa, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
    3. Informa reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prizes or Competition where it becomes necessary to do so at its sole discretion.
    4. By entering this Competition, participants warrant that there is no legal prohibition on them to enter and participate in the Competition, and as such participating does not contravene any laws in the jurisdiction or location in which they make their entry.
    5. To the furthest extent permitted by law, Informa shall not be liable to pay any taxes in relation to awarding the prizes.  Any such taxes shall the responsibility of the relevant participant (including, without limitation, the Winner).
    6. Participants hereby agree to fully indemnify Informa for any loss, damages or costs in relation to a breach of these Terms and Conditions, including any legal costs incurred in defending any third party claims.
    7. In attending any Medlab conference, including but not limited to Medlab Asia and Asia Health 2020 – The Virtual Edition and Medlab Middle East 2021, entrants agree to abide by the terms and conditions applicable to visitors.
    8. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
