R&D - Overview

Next generation sequencing (NGS) has transformed the way we used to diagnose several diseases. It is a powerful tool in Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Transcriptomics as well as in Cross-Omics approaches. On the other hand, plenty of technical challenges, which need to be analysed and solved, emerged with these technologies.

At the MEDLAB Congress, the R&D Conference provides a platform to discuss translation of NGS from research to deployment in the clinical-setting genetic testing including oncology and infectious disease - to personalise diagnostics and therapeutics.  This conference brings together technology development with special emphasis on clinical applications of NGS, its advantages and challenges in clinical diagnostics.

Chaired by Dr John Connolly, Director, Translational Immunology, Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Singapore, this meeting will take place at MEDLAB on 5 April 2017 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Key Topics

  • Combination of gene therapy with cell therapy
  • Development of novel anti-cancer therapeutic agents
  • Translational omic biomarker discovery and validation
  • Developing immune therapeutic strategies
